Dear Alaska, I'm sorry for complaining about you nonstop so far this winter. I can't promise I won't complain at your dark and cold a little more before winter is gone. But I'd like to tell you thank you for the beautiful week and weekend you have graced us with. Through all my complaining, I've failed to recognize the beauty! And I'm not going to lie, it would be nice to be able to brave the COLD to go explore your beauties, but we settled for snapping pictures from the highway as we drove.
Sincerely, Tirzah
ps I promise to try to be more optimistic...Just in case, don't check my facebook status too often. ;)
...and all from the comfort of our nice warm car as we drove down highway...Ahhh....
Thanks for all the joy and happiness you bring us each and every day!
You are such a miracle and blessing to us.
We love you!
As you see, we recently celebrated CJ's THIRD Birthday! It's crazy how fast it has gone by. When we asked CJ what he wanted to do for his birthday all he every answered was "Cake, Blow, and Play"...
Please, let that be his answer for all his upcoming birthdays!
We had a great time with a LOT of family. His birthday proved standing room only, or pretty close. That's easy when your house is small, but we still had a great turnout!
We learned the importance of "certain" household "appliances" :)
We worked out...
CJ learned how to show Maverick he's the boss. And if a dog could roll his eyes...I swear Mav's doing it.
CJ started his own band...
This, truthfully has taken a lot of our time with all the endorsement requests and PR meetings and all. His band is, however, VERY exclusive, so far he's got the bear, himself, and recently added Maverick. His girlfriend, Tai, is accepted off and on and Elmo has been cut several times already. When suggested that Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunts, Uncles, and other friends join his band...they are greeted with a firm "uuuhhhh...NO!" He also plays a mean "air guitar" (yes, he is his father's child for sure) to all music playing wherever we may be - in stores, to the radio, and always at church...Who knows what his nursery leaders think he's doing...
We also completed a couple home improvement projects...The bathroom came first. What? Our tiles had only been falling down for 6 months or so...(Sorry to Kali who had to endure no bathroom while she was here...Oopsilon) :)
This project was NOT FUN AT ALL!!
On an unrelated note, if anyone is looking for a good plumber, I have a few of his business cards left.
We also built our new fence...It blew down last year and has been a long time comin!
This was actually a fun project. I put most of it up and Troy dug the post holes (I'm pretty sure I had the hardest part...Ha ha) I wish I had a picture of the "before" fence...But I think it's better left forgotten!
Well, I got tired of looking at CJ's hockey hair, although I do love his hair long, it felt like child abuse watching him constantly brushing the hair out of this eyes. So, with help from my friend (or blame, which ever you see it...Ha ha), the hockey hair has taken a temporary vacation. Be kind with your comments you professionals out there, the only hair I've ever cut is our miniature schnauzer's! :)
BEFORE
AFTER
A small disclaimer...Don't ever cut your kid's hair in the garage next to all his toys he rarely sees or only plays with on a special occasions or for some reward...
like his giant-sized kickball, or his "outdoor" bike -
trust me, they won't sit still and by the end will be shouting "BIIIIIIIIKE"!!!
*This post is dedicated to my dear friend Marianne*
Here are some pictures of some family time together last night. It was a nice, relaxing evening. No bears in sight! :) The only pest in sight was me, incessantly taking Troy's picture...Sorry dude.
CJ yelling "MIIIIIIIIINE" like all charming little 2 year olds do! :)
